The short answer
Studio Zainal & Zainal is a Singapore photography studio that shoots executive and team portraits on location: at your office, boardroom, site or a venue that suits your brand. Every shoot starts with a written brief and is tethered to a screen, so you see each frame as it's made and choose the images with us. We work mainly with marketing, HR and sustainability teams preparing annual reports, sustainability reports and campaigns, and with leaders starting a new role. We work across Singapore and Asia
What "on-location" means
Instead of your people travelling to a studio, the studio comes to them. We bring the lighting and a screen for live review, set up in a meeting room or on site, and photograph people one by one or in groups. Three things make it worth doing:
Less time away from work. Your people step out for a few minutes, not a morning.
The setting tells your story. Your office, plant, lab or harbour says what you do in a way a grey backdrop can't.
One team, one look. Everyone is photographed in the same light, so a team of 15 looks like one team on the website and in the report.
How a shoot with us runs
A written brief. What the photos are for, who's in them, where each will be used, and the deadline.
A location scout or plan. We check the space, light and backgrounds before the day.
A tethered shoot with live review. Frames appear on screen as they're taken, so nothing is a surprise later.
Selection with you. You choose the images with us.
Post-production and delivery. Retouched to an agreed standard, delivered as full-resolution files.
Most single-day projects produce 10 to 20 finished images.
What clients say
“We arranged a corporate shoot for 15 people. Zakaria and his team were very professional. We all got make up and hair arranged so the pictures look good. Most of us were quite shy and Zakaria made everyone very comfortable and gave guidance on how to pose. We loved the pictures, highly recommended for any corporate shoot.” — Diana Jave, Head of Marketing Communications, Zeiss
“Zakaria brought with him a wealth of experience, expertise, and a keen understanding and sensitivity to our vision and to the needs of the project. He was well-prepared, thoughtful, conscientious, and was able to help us to deliver the impactful and moving photos that we needed. You know you are in good capable hands, and that the photos will be of a high standard and quality. I highly encourage others to work with him too!” — Faith Ng, Associate Artistic Director, Checkpoint Theatre
Five questions to ask any studio before you book
Will someone see the space before the day? Light and backgrounds change from room to room. A scout or a floor plan avoids surprises.
Can we see the images as they're taken? Tethered shooting lets you approve framing and expressions on the spot, not a week later.
How many people can you photograph in an hour, and who keeps the schedule? Senior diaries are tight. Ask how the studio keeps the queue moving.
Can you match the look for people who join later? New hires should look like part of the same team.
What usage is included? Ask who can use the images, where, and for how long, so they can go into the report, website and press without extra fees later.
Who we suit, and who we don't
We suit organisations that publish annual or sustainability reports, leadership teams that need consistent portraits, and leaders preparing for a new role or launch. If you need a quick passport photo or a low-cost headshot the same day, a walk-in studio will serve you better.
Prices
Executive portraits start from S$500. Team and report shoots typically cost S$3,000 to S$6,000, depending on the number of people, locations and how the images will be used.
